Screen printing

image1

Stitches Clothing Co runs four top-of-the-line automatic presses, which enables us to print bulk quantities in a quick turnaround time.  While standard plastisol ink printing is the most common of our print methods, we offer many other services and options to make your items truly custom. Don't see what you are looking for? Ask us, we might have new technics we just have not posted yet!

Full Color Screen Printing

Simulated Process

image2

Simulated full-color process differs from 4-color process (CMYK) in that the inks are solid opaque colors (spot colors) usually printed on dark colored shirts. This process uses 6-9 colors/screens (including highlight white) to make prints more vibrant and realistic.

4-color Process

image3

4 –color process uses the basic CMYK colors and is used for those designs that are made of more colors than possible to print on standard machines. This process is similar to how newspapers are printed. Being that this process uses only 4 colors/screens, colors tend to be more dull than simulated full-color process. However, 4-color process is a great option for printing designs such as event sponsor logos that differ drastically in color from logo to logo.

Specialty Screen printing inks & processes

Soft Hand-Reduced

image4

One option for a vintage look is reduced plastisol ink.  This works great for white prints as its less thick than water base white. A reducer is added into a plastisol ink, basically watering it down to have a softer hand.

White Discharge

image5

Discharge is the process of removing the dyed pigment in a garment's fabric, leaving the fabrics natural color behind (a look similar to bleach), and replacing it with a small amount of white pigment.  Discharging works best on fabric that is 100% cotton or have been treated for discharge.

Color Discharge

Discharge is the process of removing the dyed pigment in a garment's fabric, leaving the fabrics natural color behind (a look similar to bleach). Color pigments can also be added to make colored discharge.  Discharging works best on fabric that is 100% cotton or have been treated for discharge.

Water Based

image7

Water-based printing is a great option for creating a soft hand, distressed and vintage looks.  Water-based inks are thinner and work best when printed on light garments or on a dark garment that has been discharged.  After washing, the inks have a nearly absent feel to the touch.  Another option for a vintage look is reduced plastisol ink.  This works great for white prints as its less thick than water base white.

Tone-on-Tone

image12

Our tone-on-tone printing is created by a special ink mixture we have developed that slightly darkens the color of the garment while having almost no texture. It works on most materials and colors of garments.

EMBROIDERY processes

Standard Embroidery

image15

Standard embroidery can be done on shirts, jackets, hats, bags, etc. Commercial embroidery uses satin, running, and/or fill stitches to recreate a logo or design using thread. There are limitations as to how large and how small embroidery can be done as well as on which materials.

3D/Puff Embroidery

image16

3D puff (3D foam) is a technique where 2-4mm foam is placed under the top stitching of a design to raise or "puff" the surface, giving a 3D look to your embroidery designs.  It is most commonly used on structured hats with logos that are simple. 3D puff does not work well on unstructured hats or with logos that have small details.  You can also mix 3D puff with regular, flat sewing in most designs.

Patch Application

image17

Patch application is the technique of using a simple running stitch to adhere a woven or sewn patch to a garment.

*Currently we are only accepting jobs for patches on flat garments (shirts, bags) but plan to add hats soon.  We do not supply patches, clients must order them and have them shipped to us. Patch application jobs are by approval only.
